Frog Market Special
Chop, Slice, or Dice!
The Frog Market Special has our new Tungsten Cerakote and is the thinnest knife we've made yet..
The Frog Market Special is a unique blade, especially for us at TOPS. A thickness of only 1/16th of an inch (1.5875 mm) makes this knife the thinnest knife we have offered so far.
The Frog Market Special is made of 1095 High Carbon Steel and has Tan Canvas Micarta scales. The wide heel allows for deep, shearing cuts. The steep curve up to the edge slices well. As you use the knife, you'll notice it has an ergonomic handle that is very comfortable. The thinner steel allows for clean, smooth cuts and gives the blade some added flexibility over thicker knives. The tip is also ideal for boning meats like chicken and pork. Although the Frog Market Special is great in the kitchen, you'll find a myriad of uses for it while camping, fishing, and hunting as well.
Steven Dick, who is an editor with Tactical Knives, refined this design based on what he saw on a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam. He saw butchers and fishmongers using knives with a pattern he'd never seen before. They were able to prepare meats and fish of many varieties easily using their unique blades. But rest assured, although the inspiration for the Frog Market Special comes from the markets in Vietnam, the knives are still manufactured and hand-finished right here in the Rocky Mountains, USA.

- 3 stars
- The only thing i don’t like is the finish. It started flaking off after only a few days. (Posted on 1/1/2022)
- Amazing
- I have had this knife for awhile now. I am a chef for awhile now traveled a lot with this knife. This knife is an amazing slicer. And a pretty tough chopper it even is flexible enough to slide or bend around bones when pretending to stab rib cages. The only complaint is I wish they made a tear drop broom stick handle for it. Took my new fms to a friends restaurant to demonstrate how to prep packer briskets for BBQing. Its difficult with a good knife, but the frog market special excelled at this task impressing the whole staff. Stayed incredibly sharp throughout. Works amazing on chicken.
Great job Tops; 5 stars
