The SERE® Operator by Al Mar® is perhaps one of the most well-known tactical knife designs out there, and for good reason. It’s a classic design with great lines, ergonomics, and usefulness. It was recognized as a great design by Colonel James “Nick” Rowe, who is credited with designing some of the US Army’s SERE training at Camp Mackall.
In 2016 TOPS began working with the owner of Al Mar® Knives, to begin manufacturing the Mini SERE® Operator in the USA. The Mini SERE® Operator is the same design as the original, but somewhat smaller. This makes it an excellent EDC tool in addition to an easily concealable self-defense knife. The 1/8” thick blade is extremely sharp with a tip and false edge (that can be sharpened upon request) that are great for stabbing and slashing. The handles are thin and comfortable in forward and reverse grips. TOPS’ version is made with 154cm steel, Black G10 handles, and a Kydex belt sheath.

- great mini sere
- Recieved the Al Mar mini sere operator today. Fit and finish were excellent. This isn't a surprise as I have come to expect it. I bought my first Top's knife in 1996. I have 9 or 10 now and all are perfect. The handle on the mini sere is thinner than it appears on the web site but fits my han very well. The slight scallops on the handle bing your fingers into the correct position with out interfereing with various grips and add some asthetics. As usual it is hair popping sharp. You cn shave with this. (Posted on 1/31/2018)
