Details

This unique knife was designed by Abe Elias of Diving Sparrow Knife Works. The original concept was for a handy utility blade that could be placed in a small survival kit which would have more strength and durability than a razor blade. Abe found that not only were wilderness survival enthusiasts carrying the Diving Sparrow, but people were adapting it to be an "inside the belt line" self defense knife, easy to conceal and carry.

Abraham Elias has been designing and making knives since 2003. An auto worker and jack-of-all-trades, he developed his love of steel as a boy having owned his first knife at the age of 6, which was a gift from his uncle. He then became a collector at the age of ten, buying knives with his paper route money. A few years ago Abe left the auto industry altogether and went into making his knife designs full time. Over the past eight years he has become Field Editor for "Knives Illustrated" magazine, contributing writer to Knife World, and can be found writing for numerous other outdoor publications. Abe also teaches hands-on outdoor survival classes.

Abe's background includes: wilderness survival instructor, traditional wood worker, primitive skills teacher and wilderness canoeing instructor.
