Details
The Modern Gladius was designed by the team at Smoky Mountain Knife Works. They have what is very likely the largest knife store in the world. These guys know knives. So when they asked us if we’d like to make a design from them, the answer was obviously yes. The Modern Gladius is a shorter version of that classic Roman weapon. It is 3/16” 1095 with black traction coating. The double-edged tanto-esque blade is designed to be great for stabbing thrusts and slashing cuts. It has a fuller on each side of the edge also. The tan canvas Micarta handle is tapered very slightly towards the guard to help lock your hand in place and includes fullers on each side of the blade. It comes in a black Kydex sheath with a leather dangler for easy carry.

- Awesome Dagger!
- Just an amazing dagger! Great quality from Tops as always on both the blade and the sheath. I would really love to see a larger version of this in 8", 10", or even 12" I know 12" sounds obnoxious, but I would buy one that size instantly! The Roman Pugio was sometimes as long as 11", so it wouldn't be too far off. (Posted on 7/22/2023)
