Marble’s ® has been around since the late 1800s and produced many iconic knives/hatchets over the years. When they approached TOPS to do a modern “TOPS-ified” version of the Woodcraft ®, we were happy to oblige. After all, it’s not every day you get approached to do a re-make of a knife design that is over 100 years old.
Marble’s ® versions of the woodcraft mostly included stacked leather handles and metal bolsters. Neither of those features are seen on TOPS’ usually. So, Leo’s way of mimicking the look was to use two different colors of Micarta and inset one piece into the other. The TOPS version also includes Midnight Bronze Cerakote as a great compliment to the handle. The sheath was designed to match with the old-school “cowboy” sheaths that had leather cover most of the handle to protect the knife from getting scratched up or snagging while going through thick brush. The dimensions and design are as close to the Marble’s version as possible but bring this knife new life. Still a classic design that is great for hunting, camping, and of course, Woodcraft ® chores.

What's better than a 100+ year old knife design? TOPS'fying it!
The woodcraft design from Marbles is older than the two world wars of the last century. It is also supposed to be one of the inspirations for the tracker.
The TOPS take on this time tested design is fantastic. The handle is probably one of the most ergonomic ones I've ever held and guides the grip effortlessly. The blade slices extremely well and the aesthetics of sandwiched micarta and midnight bronze Cerakote are very pleasing.
Leather sheath maybe a hit or miss depending on application and I would recommend a Kydex sheath if EDC is the application. But overall, another winner from TOPS. (Posted on 7/30/2023) - Woodcraft knife
- Just got the knife in the mail today blown away about the look an quality. Best knife out there highly recommend. One downfall I wish it came with a sticker if u guys want to send one I wouldn't complain lol (Posted on 3/3/2023)
