Wild Pig Hunter
A seriously hardcore design
The 7 1/2" blade is made for deep positive piercing penetration and is combined with a strong puncture point.
Wild pig hunting has become a very popular sport as well as a necessity in many areas due to their overwhelming numbers and the damage they do. Feral hogs may appear basically the same as domestic hogs in a wide variety of colors and coat patterns. A mature feral hog may reach a weight of 100 to over 400 pounds. They have 4 continuous tusks, 2 top, and 2 bottom, and their contact causes a continuous sharpening of the lower tusks. The tusks combined with their lightning speed can cause serious damage to a hunter or their dogs.
The TOPS Wild Pig Hunter knife is a seriously hardcore design. The 7 1/2" blade is made for deep positive piercing penetration and is combined with a strong puncture point. Each blade is ground from 1/4 inch thick 1095 high carbon steel. We added our new Sniper Gray finish which will give years of dependable service. The handle is green canvas Micarta and our well-known Rocky Mountain Tread which ensures a positive grip even when in wet, muddy, or bloody conditions. The sheath is made in the USA of vegetable tanned, tough steer hide.
"This is definitely a great knife for difficult situations and hard use."

- If there can be only ONE…
- TOPS Knives Wild Pig Hunter is the finest knife I’ve ever seen, held, or owned. Bar none. Design, balance, heft, purpose- all are but part of what makes the Wild Pig Hunter superb for hunting, or serious social difficulties. My former favorites will be either kept or given to others. THIS ONE, is mine- all mine. Even the leather sheath is better than any I’ve seen in years. TOPS spared no effort or quality in their product. I look at it, and honestly, cannot find any fault, or lack in it’s execution. Best edge I’ve ever had delivered to me. Serious, lethally serious, right out of the box. Confidence is as instant as tactile response to the specially crafted scales on its handle. It’s made to be kept, and when necessary, used. Poseurs and wannabes need not apply. In essence, a very serious knife, for serious people. Bravo Zulu, and Well Done, TOPS (Posted on 12/4/2022)
- This is a great blade
- Wow. Love this knife. Nice and strong and very sharp. I am sure it will do it's job very well. Would love a kydex sheath for this. (Posted on 9/11/2021)
- This Knife Does Its Job
- I just completed a wild pig hunt on Maui, and this knife was exceptional. It was comfortable and easy to handle in tight quarters with the dogs. The blade is extremely sharp, and the contour of the blade tip made penetrating the hide super easy. This knife has earned its name. (Posted on 6/7/2021)
- My most recent purchase but haven't used it yet
- My most recent purchase but haven't used it yet. Of all 6 TOPS Knives this is the most impressive and the sharpest out of the box knife of almost all knifes I own not just the TOPS. Looking forward to using it out in the field and giving you my impressions. Thanks for making such a top quality product. Pardon my pun. (Posted on 4/26/2021)
- Wicked Knife
-
It's narrow piercing design makes it THE knife to have if a deadly situation presents itself. It would even been proficient against an armored opponent. However, this long narrow design also makes this knife dangerous to carry, relatively, as compared to other designs, Silent Hero.
The back of the knife has been beveled on both sides. That grove works well with the wicked edge sharpeners clamping design, and cuts down on weight.
Someone had mentioned this design was similar to a Russian special forces design.
It is wicked.
{worth mentioning: stubby hand guard points can be panful, was cutting Kelly Moore paint buckets}
(Posted on 1/26/2020) - Very Nice
- I love this blade. It reminds greatly of the KIZLYAR PHOENIX COMBAT but far better made. I have taken at least 20 wild pigs with this knife since I first received it. There are a couple of things I would like seen changed. I love the hilt except for the numb under the lanyard hole, it limits the grips you can use comfortably. The leather sheath needs the strap and snap moved to the the other side of the knife, when you draw the blade you have to take care not to slice the leather. Other then those two things this is a wonderful hunting (not processing) and fighting knife. (Posted on 3/19/2019)
- Outstanding!
- This is the most expensive knife I own, but the moment I first held it, I could tell that I was holding a high quality blade and think it was worth the investment. The first thing I noticed was that the balance is exceptional. This knife feels incredibly light and neutral balanced for a 7+ inch blade of 1/4 inch carbon steel. The next thing I noticed was that the Rocky Mountain Tread handle is shaped surprisingly well for comfort and grip. It may look uncomfortable but it provides a solid grip in all conditions. Next was the shape of the blade. The length and shape of the blade is perfect for stabbing and thrusting, and will easily pierce a rib cage, or other targets. Lastly, the sheath is simple but well constructed, and like the knife, made in the USA. This quality design and the craftsmanship are simply outstanding. I have paid less for good knives, but never less for a knife that even approaches Tops' level of quality. Thanks, and best wishes! (Posted on 2/26/2019)
- Outstanding Knife
- I received my Wild Pig Hunter just the day before yesterday. I have yet to have it out to do any semi-serious field use yet but this is a brief overview of my opinions and observations. Firstly this knife is solid. No whippy blade here. When you hold this knife you know you have a solid well made piece of steel. The blade as stated is about 7 1/2 inches but somehow it seems larger to me and I am no novice to knives. The Black River Wash on the blade is beautifully done. It is nice and even and provides an attractive non glare finish. The micarta scales are a nice green and the texturing provides a nice grip without abrading your hand unduly. These scales will not slip or turn in your hand. This knife is reminiscent to me of some commando knives of an earlier generation and I can see this knife being used as a combat/defensive knife as well as a hunter and impromptu large bush knife. The knife flows well in the hand when put through its paces in Filipino Kali drills and is not to heavy for extended use. The leather sheath is nice and solidly made and will give years of service if maintained properly. This knife, however, is off to Patriot Leather for a custom scout sheath. I have looked very hard to tell everyone of any negatives I have found but the more I look for the negativity the more I truly like this knife. One caution though..do not expect to have to sharpen this knife out of the box as you do with some knives. This knife is insanely sharp and will shave the hair from your arm, cut paper, you name it and the tip is quite literally needle sharp. This is a wonderful knife with a great deal of care taken in its making. It is attractive and functional. This is my first TOPS knife and if this is any indication of the quality of all of their knives then it won't be my last. Thank you TOPS for my new favorite knife!! (Posted on 1/28/2016)
