Designed by Chad Los Banos, known as a God-fearing, family man. Chad is a rough and tumble corrections officer on the big island of Hawaii and winner of the 2001 Top Gun Award during basic correctional training, which involved shooting the Remington 870, S&W 686, and the AR15. Chad is both a traditional and non-traditional martial artist and loves knives, guns, and the outdoors.
Chad virtually arrived out of nowhere in 2005 and created successful designs for both Spyderco and Boker. Articles about his work have been featured in the magazines GUNS, SWAT, BLADE, and TACTICAL KNIVES. Several Magazines in Europe and Asia have also featured his work. Now Chad has teamed up with TOPS Knives to offer his collaboration called HIT-5. A light-weight, slim line tool and fighting knife, worn close to the body.
