Another superb Leo-designed knife, the 3 Pointer makes for an excellent EDC, Fishing, Camping, and Hunting knife. One of the main goals of this model was options. Options for carry – it comes with beta loop straps and a neck chain, so it can be worn in multiple ways. Options for personalization – it is offered with black canvas or tan canvas handles or skeletonized.

The knife is large enough to handle a small buck (like a 3 Pointer, for example) as well as small game, fish, and fowl. It’s a great size and design for all sorts of other uses as well. You’ll find this knife replacing your folder for EDC because of how light, functional, and easy to carry it is.

Specialized Hunting Knife & Good EDC
This knife is purpose designed as a hunting knife. The point in up on the back of the blade makes it less likely to poke holes where you don't want them when skinning or cleaning game. This point design also extends the knife's belly enhancing its ability to skin game. From the EDC stand point the belly lengthens the edge for better draw cuts and personally the high point near or at the back of the blade is a favorite giving a usable point without compromising the long, curved edge. In my knife use of 50+ years I have found curved edges just cut better. Part of it is the edge lengthening effect and the other part is physics. A curved edge present less edge to the target material at any point in time. This focuses the force driving the edge on a smaller area giving easier penetration as versus a straight edge which would spread out that force on a larger area.

One of the nuances I really appreciate is how the straight portion is angled up toward the handle. This helps the edge to bite into material and gives many of the advantages of a recurve without the added difficulty in sharpening. It is a feature seen on many of the old-style American hunting knives of the past. The curved back enhances the grip and also gives a better angle between the blade and the handle for cutting. Just goes to show Leo Espinoza knows his way around a blade - well done!

My only gripe is really a personal thing. I have XL hands and being older I have arthritis in my hands. The Chilli Pepper like handle design doesn't work well for me because of these fit issues. I generally prefer a more hand filling grip. I solved this issue by doing a French Whipping around the rear half of the grip in paracord. This widened the handle a bit and the raised ridge this style of whipping provides enhanced the grip solving the problem.

I like the sheath. It is enough to get the job done without excess weight and has a raised thumb push on the back. I tend to carry this knife in my front pocket as a small fixed blade utility or EDC knife. It's thinner blade profile saves weight while giving enhance slicing ability and helps make pocket carry work well. The blade being under 3.5" makes it Colorado legal and helps with pocket carry.

I attach a lanyard at the bottom of the sheath and clip the lanyard to the waistband of my pants with a 'S' Shaped carabiner. This helps with both pulling the knife and keeps my sheath handy when doing a quick task. When done I resheath the knife and drop it back into my front pants pocket.

Overall, I am very pleased with the 3 Pointer.

GREAT EDC FIXED BLADE
For the litlle task like cleaning a fish, cut some vegetables an others tasks it is a great fixed blade, I use the sheat in the belt on my right side and it is comfortable. It´s a little hard to get out the knife from the sheat but I think it´s need more use.
Great quality and beautiful design.

So so
The blade is wicked sharp right out of the package. The handle is on the small side and kind of awkward though. The sheath is for the lack of better terms absolute garbage. There just isn't any real good way to carry the knife on your belt and as a neck knife it is awkward.I'll be making one that is actually worth carrying out of leather.
