Badger Creek
The Essential Field Workhorse
There are designs that sit in a notebook for years, waiting for the right moment. The Badger Creek is one of them. Leo Espinoza first sketched this blade in 2017. When he showed the drawing to Mike, the original owner of TOPS, Mike looked at it, paused, and gave it a name: Badger Creek. It was the last knife Mike ever named for Leo. It sat in a drawing pad, waiting, until the time was right to bring this vision to life for the people who spend their days in the woods and their nights by the fire.
This knife is a pure workhorse. It was built to bridge the gap between heavy camp labor and the finer, necessary tasks of the hunt. Whether you are processing wood for a fire, preparing a meal at camp, or breaking down game, the Badger Creek handles it with authority. It is large enough to handle the workload but balanced enough to stay on your belt all day. If you need a reliable partner that stays sharp and resists the elements, this is the tool you want at your side.
Its performance comes from these key design elements:
- N690 Stainless Steel: This material provides high rust resistance for wet environments while maintaining excellent edge retention through sustained use.
- High Grind on Thick Stock: The 3/16-inch spine offers serious prying strength, while the high grind ensures the edge geometry remains thin enough for clean slicing power.
- Contoured Micarta Handle: The two-tone Micarta features a rough, grippy finish that stays secure in your hand, even when wet or after hours of heavy use.
When you carry the Badger Creek, you carry a piece of TOPS history. The design philosophy prioritizes the blade as a reliable force multiplier in the field. This tool gets the job done.
Please Note: While N690 stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, it is not impervious to the elements. After use in the field, wipe the blade down to remove moisture, blood, or debris. A light coat of oil will protect the finish. Store the knife in a dry environment to ensure it stays ready for your next outing.
