In the most challenging situations.

TOPS Knives started many years ago in the heart of the Rocky Mountains: living, playing, and working in this incredible outdoor paradise. TOPS' earlier years were specifically oriented toward tools for Special Operations (both military and law enforcement) or for Survival. Our growing clientele has requested that we develop a lighter and functional series of knives oriented to Hunters, Backpackers, Campers, Trekkers, Hikers, Bikers, and Preppers. Their needs led to new designs with thinner but often wider blades to keep inherent strength and with unique handle configurations to assist with a secure grip in all situations.

This is the story behind the development of the Viper Scout. Don't be fooled by its elegant design. This knife performs proficiently in the field, just like it was born and raised there!

The 1/8" thick 1095 blade is wider than your average knife, ensuring strength. Leo Espinoza, VP of TOPS, and the designer, incorporated his newest version of the now, well-known Rocky Mountain Tread. The knife sits comfortably in most hands. A 100% leather sheath carries the knife close to the body with an easily accessible draw.

A good looking, functional, trustworthy companion.

Ergonomics of this knife - unusual looks - turned out great !
I own a number of Tops knives, and they are some of the best in the world. I was curious about the ergonomic shape of the Viper Scout, since all of my knives have been more of a traditional shape, but the pictures of this one seemed that it would fit my hand well. The handle shape, material, and grip are most important on a knife. I just received it, so haven't really tested it, but let me say that the shape, scales, and grip of this knife are fantastic. This is a great knife guys! I really love it. Review by Mike (Posted on 3/24/2017)
Great tool
This is my 1st tops knife and I have to say I'm quite impressed. I've used it to skin deer and wild hogs with no issues and no need to resharpen in the middle (if you've ever messed with wild hogs you know the hair is hell on a blade) which is why I'm so impressed. There are only 2 things I'd change and one is I'd use a kydex sheath (my opinion ) and 2nd I'd offer it without the traction coating because it seems to drag a little in thick meat when deboning. Otherwise this is a great outdoorsmans knife! I love the upswept handle which aids in cutting and slicing on a cutting board. The grip is great with the g10 and rocky Mountain tread. I can't say enough good things about this knife. P.s. it's sharp! I've nicked myself. Review by Eric (Posted on 1/19/2017)
