Escape - Break free from captivity: to get free from captivity or confinement
Avoid bad situation: to avoid danger, harm, or involvement in an unpleasant situation
The CUMA HISS was designed to help its users break free and ESCAPE from everyday confinements.
ESCAPE: Unjust knife laws with an EDC that is small enough to be legally carried, daily, just about everywhere.ESCAPE: Feeling completely unarmed for daily tasks when you need a knife.
ESCAPE: From being noticed with a knife that is thin enough to easily be concealed under a lightweight T-shirt.
ESCAPE: The ordinary with The CUMA HISS, a high speed, lightweight, razor sharp, Urban Self Defense tool that is as useful cutting fruit as it is the bad guy.
When I was sketching up the CUMA HISS, I wasn't sure how big I wanted to make it. I had already released two popular knife designs with TOPS, but both of those designs were a wee bit too much for the average city dweller to carry around on his/her belt without gaining a bit of unwanted attention. So I decided to go with the neck knife format. I wanted the HISS to be thin enough so it could be easily concealed under a shirt and I wanted it lightweight because I hate having heavy things hanging off of my neck. So I skeletonized the design. Being a combatives instructor, I wanted a time proven razor sharp edge on it so I went with a Wharncliff blade, I clipped the tip down to add durability. Seeing that I consider a neck knife to be a last ditch self defense tool, I wanted the grip to be comfortable in both forward and reverse grips. I angled the butt of the handle so a thumb could feel just right wrapping across the top. Because I have an ever growing love and appreciation for the outdoors, I added a little fire steel notch. You Bushcraft guys are always on my mind! I had fun designing the CUMA HISS and am proud to see it made by TOPS Knives. I know that once you have it, it will serve you well for years to come. I wear mine every day.
Oh, one more thing...The CUMA HISS is now the OFFICIAL Knife of the GI JOE Dreadnok Enemy Zartan. You can see Zartan knife fighting Snake Eyes with it on the cover of the IDW Gi Joe Comic Book: SNAKE EYES AND STORMSHADOW issue #15."
Escape reality for 15 minutes a day and enjoy a comic book like Snake Eyes and Stormshadow. You will be glad you did!
