All great bushcrafters know... It's nice to have options. With that, we have another one for our popular Fieldcraft by The Brothers of Bushcraft. This one boasts a Coyote Tan powder coat with our Green Canvas Micarta handles. Still, the same sturdy, strong knife that so many people have come to love with an updated look. So whether you prefer the original black with tan handles, the tumble finish with tan, or the coyote tan with green handles, this knife will help you tackle the tasks you need to survive.

The Fieldcraft Knife was designed by The Brothers of Bushcraft, a coalition of men across North America focused on sharing wilderness living skills of all categories. From tracking to building shelters, the Brothers of Bushcraft make it a point to show the skills to people, of all ages, from all over.

The Fieldcraft Knife is the culmination of their knowledge, combining experiences from the broad and humid rain forests, to the arid and scorpion-littered deserts, to the frigid northern lands that span the Americas.

The cutting edge is a modified Scandinavian Grind, which is very effective for carving, skinning, and other general woodwork. The hardness and edge geometry work beautifully together to make a long-lasting edge. The handle is one of the most ergonomic on the market, sporting several useful additions. Although knives with a lot of frills often end up lacking, the additional items found on The Fieldcraft Knife were selected from experience and critiqued in every step of design, development, and production. Being made of canvas Micarta, the handle will never let you down. The bow drill divot on the handle is frictionless and makes starting those primitive fires almost effortless. The "Thumb Scallops", formed on the hilt of the handle offer more comfort and control when using specialized carving and skinning grips. The pommel of the blade is simply the tang of the knife exposed enough to allow impact from a baton to not affect the handle (though the Micarta is definitely tough enough to take such abuse). On the exposed pommel, you will find a scraper specially designed by one of The Brothers of Bushcraft, for striking Ferro rods safely and efficiently.

The Coyote Tan B.O.B. also boasts a Coyote Tan Kydex Sheath in place of the black Kydex, still with a rotating steel belt clip. This arrangement allows a safe, secure, and comfortable carry on the belt, pack strap, or even around the neck. With a built-in Ferro-rod attachment point, the sheath now doubles as a minimalist survival kit.

The Fieldcraft Knife has had heavy-duty abuse, and testing done in the wilderness of Canada, where local survival experts Mors Kochanski, Dr. Gino Ferri, and many others have deemed her a "Serviceable Field Knife". These words are exactly what she is meant to be.

From carving netting needles and trap triggers to chopping through branches, the TOPS Knives / Brothers of Bushcraft Fieldcraft Knife will do just about any chore that you can throw at her to survive and thrive out there in the wilderness.

Built like a Tank
TOPS Fieldcraft B.O.B.
• My first impression was that this knife is a tank. Built like a crow bar. Should work great as a hard use field knife. The knife is heavier than I expected. Blade is thick at 0.190” which is why it’s so heavy.
• The Coyote Tan Traction Powder Coating on blade is good looking but it is somewhat rough and will drag though material.
• The 1/3 High, Modified Scandi Flat Grind looks great. This blade is sharp as a razor.
• The blade spine edges are squared off but the edges are coated, not so great for striking a fire rod.
• The coarse ricasso jimping is crisp and grippy.
• The handle thickness is a flat slab sided, 0.625”at the widest point and has no palm swells. It feels somewhat narrow but adequately fills my hand. Love the neutral, Straight Back spine and tang of the handle. It has a somewhat rectangle feel to it. The narrow ‘Pinch Grip’ scallops on the fore ends of the micarta are great. I wish the micarta had a rougher surface finish as it feels a little slick even with all the oil removed. It does become more grippy when it gets wet. Each scale features a Bow Drill Divit.
• Handle allows a lot of control for precise cuts using the Pinch Grip Scallops on the narrow scales. Even though the handle is somewhat thin........The lower contoured handle edge profile is perfect for my medium-large hands.
• The integral front finger guard protects the fingers well.
• The Kydex sheath is well done with exception that it doesn’t have a flared retraction Thumb Ramp. Tight fit, no rattles.
• The only real complaint I have is that the scales had oil on them and it soaked the micarta. I had to wash the entire knife and scales many times with De-Natured Alcohol and Dawn soap to get the oil off. There still remains some light colored areas on both scales. Maybe all oil has not been washed out ?
• Great job on the knife. Looks and feels great. It’s a beast! Not so great on the handle scale prep.
