Tex Creek XL
When Its Time To Go And Get Some!
The fact that this Tex creek area is so close to us, enables our designers and makers the ability to field test in their own backyard. Since many of our staff grew up in this setting, they have ample opportunity to evaluate the use of our knives/tools under the most adverse conditions. The Tex Creek XL is a fine example of a high quality, good-looking working knife.
The darkened Micarta scales are screwed onto the handle and a large cord holder is accentuated at the back of the handle. The handles are designed and built for a positive grip and for extended periods of use. A simple and usable design is reinforced by a sturdy 3/16" thick blade and full tang handle.
This is a knife that performs with excellence in the field and looks and feels like an old trusted friend, anywhere you go.

I really like this knife. It’s an excellent skinner and slicer. I was hoping to get one with the river wash metal finish but was too late and received the Sniper Gray Cerakote which is still better than most finishes available but doesn’t show the heat treatment of the blade. Still, it’s been durable in my limited use.
The handle is comfortable for my size large hands but my fingers are not long so maybe that affects my opinion. The blade is longer than some will prefer, but I already have a few 4-5” blades such as the Buck Mesa and Cold Steel Master Hunter so I picked this one to give me a longer option for a camp and hunting knife.
The sheath is a good quality leather and looks nice, but has no retention strap to lock in the knife. It’s already starting to show wear, but that just adds to the classic looks of the rig.
So, for those who are looking for something larger than a Buck 110, Vanguard or Selkirk, but higher quality than a 119 Special, this just might be worth looking into. (Posted on 7/19/2024)
